A knife that opens badly is not necessarily worn out: more often it is simply dry. Nano-Oil oils reach the pivots and the bearings without gumming them up, and they last.

5w for fine, fast mechanisms, 10w for everyday use, 85w for parts that work hard. One drop is enough; excess attracts dust.
