Overview

The NS151 lines up eight arms over a 97 mm diameter, the highest count in the NS series. The tips are short, separated by even intervals, and the whole leans towards a disc more than towards a star. The 420 stainless plate measures 3 mm, the finish is silver, and a belt sheath is supplied with the piece.

Eight arms, an almost continuous rim

Past a certain number of tips a star changes nature: at eight arms over 97 mm, the gaps between points become simple notches, and the hand meets a nearly circular surface as the fingers close. The piece can be picked up anywhere around its rim, with no need to look for an orientation. It is the exact opposite of the three-arm figure, where you hold the piece by one chosen tip; both deserve a place side by side for anyone interested in shapes.

Eight points, overall diameter of 97 mm, thickness of 3 mm. The piece is cut from 420 stainless steel in a silver finish. A belt sheath accompanies the star. No weight is published for the NS151. At 97 mm the piece stays just under the 100 mm mark shared by four other references of the series, while carrying twice as many tips as the four-point stars of the same family.

Care

Eight intervals, eight places where wood fibre wedges itself: a careful pass of the cloth goes round the piece in seconds. 420 steel is happy with clear water when soil has to come off, provided it is then dried right through. A thin coat of oil on both faces is enough for the storage period, and the sheath must be dry as well before the star slides back in.
