Max Knives TIKNU4+C — Impact Skull in crazy anodised titanium, 12 mm

Overview

The TIKNU4+C closes the TIKNU series with its most worked piece: the skull design of group 4, in 12 mm of solid titanium, finished with crazy anodising. The shades follow the volumes, gather in the hollows, lighten across the raised parts and build a pattern that photography can only approach. The dimensions stay those of the group, 58 x 35 mm for 38 g, with the tungsten carbide glass-breaker tip.

Twelve references, one series

The TIKNU series is built on four formats — the short square, the 6 mm flat, the long 78 mm and the skull — each offered in three finishes: natural, anodised, crazy anodised. Twelve pieces in all, and for anyone gathering them the interest lies as much in the gaps between formats as in the surface treatments. The natural versions show the material, the anodised ones a clear shade, the crazy ones a pattern of their own. The TIKNU4+C brings together the most sculpted format and the least repeatable finish of the set.

Tungsten carbide forms the glass-breaker point. The two other versions of this design are the TIKNU4 in natural titanium at 11 mm and the anodised TIKNU4+ at 12 mm.

Care

For a piece kept in a collection, the best precaution remains an individual pouch or a separate compartment, keeping it clear of rubbing against other metal objects. Dust is lifted with a soft brush, following the relief of the skull. A dry cloth keeps the shine up with no chemistry involved. If the piece goes out regularly, wipe it after every use: titanium oxidises no further, but the coloured layer reads more cleanly without a greasy film.
