Overview

The IWO is the orange version of the Max Knives Impact Watch. Beneath the colour there is a material first: polycarbonate, a hard and light technical plastic found wherever strength is needed without weight. Orange draws a deep tone from it, since the pigment is blended into the polymer before moulding rather than laid on top. The pocket watch format and the one-finger hold are those of the whole series.

Polycarbonate, a technical plastic

Polycarbonate is not a packaging plastic. It is a rigid polymer, chosen for its hardness and its lightness, that holds its shape and moulds cleanly into precise outlines. It ignores rust: neither rain, nor perspiration, nor a long stay at the bottom of a bag reaches it, which makes it an untroubled material for something carried every day. It also takes colour through the mass, and that is what makes a six-colour range possible where metal stays with the grey of steel.

Technical specifications

A body moulded in orange polycarbonate, the tone built into the material. Pocket watch outline, hanging ring for a belt, a loop or a bag, one-finger hold. The model comes from PSUPPER's drawing and carries the approval of Fred Perrin, cutler of the house. The Impact Watch series gathers six polycarbonate colours, blue, yellow, black, orange, red and green, along with two steel models referenced IWA1 and IWA3.

Care

Polycarbonate cleans like a pair of glasses: warm water, mild soap, a non-abrasive cloth. No oil, no dedicated product, since the material does not oxidise and has nothing to protect. Avoid household alcohol, acetone and solvent-based glass cleaners, which attack polymers. A rinse in clear water after a trip to the coast removes the salt left on the ring.
