Overview
The MKPC takes the shape of a stainless steel plate 75 mm by 40 mm, 6 mm thick, weighing 65 g. Four functions share that small surface: a graduated caliper measuring up to 3.5 cm, a bottle opener, a belt cutter and a length of paracord threaded through the body. This is the workshop accessory that lives in a work-trouser pocket, in a shoulder bag or in the glovebox, and answers the small questions of size that always come up at the wrong moment.
What a pocket caliper is for
A caliper measures what a tape rule cannot reach: the thickness of a plate, the diameter of a rod, the width of a nut, the bore of a drilled hole. The two jaws close onto the piece and the reading is taken straight off the scale, with no need to hold the object against a ruler. On the MKPC the travel is 3.5 cm, which covers the range of small parts held between two fingers: screws, cable, beads, drill bits, seals. For DIY, model making or assembly work, that is the measurement asked for most often.

Care
Stainless steel asks only for a rinse in clean water and a wipe with a cloth at the end of a working day. Clear the dust and swarf that gather in the caliper slide so the travel stays smooth, using a soft brush or compressed air. The paracord can be washed separately in warm soapy water and left to dry in open air. Store the tool flat and away from prolonged damp, so the graduations stay easy to read.
