Max Knives TIKNU8 — Satin titanium pocket tool, triple glass breaker

Overview

The TIKNU8 shifts scale compared with the earlier drawings: its machined titanium body measures 65 × 45 mm and keeps the 15 mm thickness of the series. It is pierced by a 25 × 30 mm finger opening and stands out above all for its three tungsten carbide glass breakers, where the other references carry only one. This version has a satin finish, the titanium staying grey and matt with no added colour. The first run is limited to 100 numbered pieces.

Three glass breakers, a first in the range

Every other TIKNU reference carries a single hard point; the TIKNU8 lines up three. The consequence is geometric before anything else: whichever way the piece presents itself as you pick it up, one carbide already faces outwards, with no need to reseat the object in the palm. Then there is wear, since the work is shared across three tips instead of one. Finally the triple carbide marks the TIKNU8 visually: three dark points set against the satin grey of the titanium, impossible to mistake for the rest of the series.

Technical specifications

The TIKNU8 is machined entirely from titanium. It measures 65 millimetres by 45, with the same 15 millimetres of thickness as the rest of the series. The opening provided for the finger is 25 millimetres by 30. Three tungsten carbide points handle the glass breaking function. The finish is a satining, with no colour added. The initial run counts 100 numbered examples.

Care

Cleaning comes down to a soft cloth run along the satin grain, plus a rinse in clean water when the piece has picked up dust. Dry the rim of the finger opening afterwards, since moisture likes to sit there. The three carbides need no more than a wipe. Nothing to oil: titanium does not rust, and abrasives are best avoided, as they would leave shiny patches on the surface.
