Max Knives TIKNU8+C — Crazy anodised titanium tool, 65 × 45 mm

Overview

The TIKNU8+C takes the large machined titanium body of 65 × 45 mm, 15 mm thick, and gives it crazy anodising: several colours mingled across the whole surface, in a combination unique to each piece. The 25 × 30 mm finger opening and the three tungsten carbide glass breakers are present as on the other TIKNU8 versions. This reference is issued as a first run limited to 100 numbered pieces.

Two footprints across the TIKNU series

The series reads in two sizes. The TIKNU6 and TIKNU7 fit inside 37 × 51 mm, a footprint about the size of a large matchbox, which slips into a jeans pocket without weighing on it. The TIKNU8 changes scale with its 65 × 45 mm: nearly three centimetres more in its largest dimension, a little less in the other, which adds up to a distinctly bigger surface. It therefore suits a jacket pocket or a bag, and gives back the room needed for the finger opening and its three carbides. The 15 mm thickness stays common to both formats.

Technical specifications

The glass breaking equipment comprises three tungsten carbide points. The finish is crazy anodising, multicoloured, its result differing from one piece to the next. The first run is limited to 100 numbered examples.

Care

Like every anodised piece, this one is kept as it is rather than restored: the tone rests on an oxide film that an abrasive would take off for good. Soft cloth day to day, lukewarm clean water when needed, then thorough drying, especially inside the finger opening. Titanium takes damp without flinching and calls for no oily product at all.
