Overview

The TIKNU8+ is the large drawing of the series taken through the colour bath. Its machined titanium body measures 65 × 45 mm by 15 mm thick, it receives an anodised finish in a single tone and keeps the full equipment of the reference: the 25 × 30 mm finger opening and the three tungsten carbide glass breakers. The colour follows the machined volumes and deepens in the corners, which underlines the relief of the body. First run edition limited to 100 numbered pieces.

A 25 × 30 mm finger opening

The opening cut into the body is not a round hole but a slightly oblong passage, 25 mm one way and 30 mm the other. That difference matters: a finger has no circular section, and an elongated opening follows its shape better than a circle of the same diameter. The finger goes in properly, the object stays tied to the hand rather than rolling in the palm, and it can be left hanging off one finger while you open a door. It is also the way through for a cord if you would rather hang it from a bag.

Care

An anodised tone is not maintained so much as preserved: a microfibre cloth is enough, clean water does the rest, and anything that scours or strips belongs in the cupboard. Dry the inside of the finger opening, where water gets trapped, and check the three carbide points with a dry cotton pad. Titanium, being corrosion-proof, calls for neither oil nor any special product.
