- Blade length54mm
- Blade material440C steel
- Handle material440C steel
The FP2403 is a double-edged fixed blade designed by Fred Perrin, cut from 440C steel in a single piece. It ships with its kydex sheath and cord.
Overview
Fred Perrin designs knives that go straight to the essentials: he keeps only what serves the grip and the function. The FP2403 is a clear illustration — a symmetrical 54 mm double-edged blade, a one-piece 440C construction with no scales and no assembly, and a kydex sheath cut for it. Here, simplicity is the design.
One-piece construction
Blade and handle are cut from the same steel. There is no glued tang, no rivet, no applied scale: none of the parts that, on an assembled knife, eventually develop play. That is what gives this format its rigidity and its lifespan, and why a maker's fixed blade gets handed down.

The designer
This model carries the signature of Fred Perrin, the French knifemaker and designer known for compact, pared-down designs led by ergonomics. His work favours control of the tool, mechanical simplicity and a function you can read at a glance. The Max Knives catalogue holds one of the widest ranges of his work anywhere.
Care
A one-piece 440C asks for almost nothing: wiping after wet use and dry storage keep its look. Rinse the kydex with clean water occasionally to clear grit. On a double-edged blade, maintain both edges at the original angle on a fine stone.
Legal notice. Age-restricted item (18+). Carrying a knife in public without a legitimate reason is an offence in France and in most European countries, and double-edged blades are specifically restricted in several of them. Check the law that applies where the order is delivered before purchasing.
