Overview
The MK511 is the fixed blade of the line that carries a built in glass breaker. Its 118 mm 440C drop point blade takes the maximum stock of the group, 4,9 mm, under a stone washed black finish. The G10 handle runs 109 mm, almost matching the blade, and the whole stops at 227 mm overall for 273 g. The supplied kydex sheath is rigged with paracord, which opens several ways of attaching the piece to your gear.
What a glass breaker is for
A glass breaker is a hard point gathered onto a very small surface. The principle is simple: by concentrating the whole force of a sharp strike on a few square millimetres, you locally exceed the resistance of tempered glazing, which then breaks into granules instead of flexing. Built into the knife, it saves hunting for a separate tool and stays available one handed, knife held by the handle, with no need to draw the blade.

Care
440C steel keeps best clean and dry: wipe it down after use, then run light oil from the heel to the point. The glass breaker is worth checking now and then, simply to confirm no residue has built up around it. The G10 handle accepts soapy water and dries quickly. As for the kydex sheath, an occasional rinse and air drying are enough, with the paracord taken off if it has picked up moisture.
