Overview
The MKCM occupies the same volume as a bank card and weighs 15 g. It is an engraved stainless steel plate, framed by a black border, that stows flat in a wallet, an inside pocket or a compartment of your kit where a conventional tool would never fit. The cutting outline is drawn into the plate: the day the need appears, the useful part detaches and the object leaves its card format for that of a neck knife.
A card that detaches into a knife or a saw
Everything rests on the predefined outline engraved into the plate. The material is prepared to give way at that precise place and nowhere else, which lets the useful part be separated from the rest of the card without tools. Depending on the outline followed, the resulting piece takes the form of a knife or a saw, two profiles already drawn at manufacture. The rest of the time, the card does only what is asked of it: stay flat, discreet and ready, weighing nothing in a wallet.
Technical specifications
Stainless steel construction, bank card format, the thickness of a flat plate that stows inside a wallet. Weight 15 g. Engraved surface, outline underlined by a black border. Detachable part following a predefined outline, turning into a knife or a saw. The MKCM differs from its counterpart the MKCS by that black border, where the other version receives a fluorescent yellow outline, both cards sharing the same stainless steel construction.
Care
A survival card spends most of its life stored away, and that is where it needs watching. Take it out of its pocket now and then to wipe it, especially if it travels against fabric that holds moisture. Stainless steel asks for no more than a dry cloth, or a little soapy water followed by thorough drying. Storing it flat, with no folding or stress on the cutting outline, keeps the card ready to serve.
Legal notice for international buyers. Carrying it in public without a legitimate reason is an offence in France and in most European countries. It is the buyer's responsibility to check the law that applies where the order is delivered before purchasing.
