Overview

The DT initials say it plainly: this variant drops the single edge for a D2 steel blade with two cutting edges. The dimensions do not move — 80 mm of blade, 3 mm thick, a 130 mm black anodised aluminium handle, 210 mm open. The handle keeps its pocket clip and its glass breaker, and the nylon sheath is still part of the deal.

Two edges, and a border to think about

Giving a blade two edges changes the way it travels through material: it cuts on the push as readily as on the pull, with no need to turn the hand over, and the point, caught between two bevels that meet, enters more symmetrically. That symmetry carries a regulatory consequence worth knowing before you travel: several European and North American countries draw an explicit distinction between double-edged and single-edged blades, and apply stricter rules to owning or carrying the former. Check local legislation before crossing a border with this knife, as you would with any double-edged blade.

Care

Two edges call for two passes of the cloth, and above all for a method: lay the blade flat on the fabric, wipe in a single movement from heel to point, turn it over, repeat, and never draw the cloth back towards you across an edge. D2 then asks for the same care as on the other models in the family, a thorough drying and a veil of oil now and then. The anodised handle and the inside of the nylon sheath clean up with a damp cloth and then dry in open air.
