Overview

On the flat format of group 2, crazy anodising finds unusual ground: 6 mm of thickness leaves mostly broad flat faces, and that is where the shades spread widest. The TIKNU2+C keeps the 69 x 33 mm, the 26 g and the bottle opener of the group, with a 26 mm hole for the finger. Every example leaves the bath with its own combination of colours, so no piece can ever be replaced by an exact twin.

Twenty-six grams

The figure is worth putting on a familiar scale: 26 g is roughly what a small handful of coins comes to. Titanium accounts for much of that, its density sitting well below steel's for the same volume. On top of which the wide 26 mm hole removes material from the middle of the piece. The result is an object that does not pull on a pocket and is barely noticed on a key ring, where the group 4 Impact Skull is quoted at 38 g. Slimness, then, costs nothing in bulk.

Care

The multicoloured pattern cannot be touched up, so it is worth sparing it any needless rubbing by storing it on its own rather than loose among keys. A dry or barely damp cloth handles routine cleaning, the bottle-opener notch included. After contact with salt water, rinse in fresh water and wipe without delay. No polish is called for: the oxide layer holds its shine on its own.
