Overview

The TIKNU1+C is the multicoloured take on the group. On the same block of titanium, 55 x 37 mm and 10 mm thick, so-called crazy anodising brings several shades together in gradients and marbling. The pattern wraps the whole rim of the 25 mm hole and runs up to the tungsten carbide glass-breaker tip. No photograph can show the exact example that ships: it gives the spirit of the treatment, while the spread of colour stays particular to each piece that leaves the bath.

Why no two crazy pieces match

Single-shade anodising aims for one constant oxide thickness across the whole surface. The crazy treatment does the opposite: it lets that thickness vary from point to point along the body. Each zone then ends up with its own colour, and the borders between shades draw the marbling. Since the variation depends on a gesture and a dwell time that cannot be played back identically, the map of colours changes with every piece. That is what places these examples firmly among collectors' objects.

Care

A lightly damp microfibre cloth lifts dust and marks without touching anything. Avoid polishing: shine raised in one spot would change the oxide thickness there, and with it the colour of the pattern. Concentrated household cleaners and long soaks are best left aside for the same reason. The titanium underneath, immune to corrosion, asks only for a rinse in clean water followed by an immediate wipe, carbide tip included.
