Max Knives T1 — Multi-tool with pliers, 2 LED lights, cordura sheath

Overview

The T1 unfolds around a stainless steel plier head and gathers the essentials of a small toolbox around it. There is a 72 mm liner-lock knife, scissors, a flat screwdriver, a cross screwdriver, a bottle opener, a can opener and a carabiner. Folded, it measures 103 mm and weighs 272 g, and the cordura sheath supplied with it rides on a belt, in the place a torch would otherwise take.

Two built-in LED lights

What sets the T1 apart is its pair of LED lights, powered by two CR1616 button cells supplied with the tool. In practice it means the work area is lit by the very tool already in your hand: a fitting under a sink, a lock in a dark stairwell, a connection behind a cabinet. Where you would normally need a third hand to hold a torch, the T1 settles the question by itself.

Care

The joints of a plier multi-tool collect dust and metal filings: rinse the tool open, brush the pivots, dry it, then place a drop of light oil on each joint and on the plier spring. Wipe the blade after use. Replace the CR1616 cells when the light dims. The cordura sheath washes in soapy water and dries in open air, away from any direct heat source.
