Overview

The MK111 is built for ordinary days: opening a parcel, shortening a length of cord, slicing lunch on the corner of a table. Its 60 mm 440C drop point blade folds into a 90 mm black G10 handle, and the belt clip keeps the knife where your hand expects it instead of at the bottom of a pocket. Open, it measures 150 mm and weighs 65 g, a size you carry from morning to evening without noticing it.

What a liner lock actually does

A liner lock is a steel leaf cut into the frame of the handle. As the blade swings open, the leaf springs across behind its tang and holds it there until you move it yourself. To close, your thumb pushes the leaf aside and guides the blade home, all with one hand and without changing grip. Few parts, one obvious movement, and a lock you can check with a glance before you put weight on the edge.

Care

Wipe the blade after each use, especially after acidic food or a day outdoors: 440C is stainless, but it prefers to dry clean. A single drop of light oil on the pivot now and then keeps the action smooth and the liner lock crisp. Wash the G10 handle with soapy water and a soft brush, then dry it fully before folding the blade away. Leave the knife open for a few minutes if it has taken on moisture.
