Overview

The MK164 pairs a strongly drawn handle with a versatile blade. Its 86 mm spear point in stainless steel, symmetrical and sharply tipped, lends itself to piercing as readily as to everyday slicing. The handle in steel and anodised aluminium carries a desert camouflage pattern set with a skull, measures 119 mm closed and brings the whole knife to 205 mm open, at 123 g with the belt clip fitted.

The flipper at the end of the handle

On the MK164 the opening is triggered by the flipper sitting at the end of the handle: the index finger presses, the assist takes over and the blade locks onto its liner. That placement leaves the whole hand on the scales through the opening, with no repositioning needed. The built-in glass breaker rounds out the equipment for emergencies, concentrating force onto a small, hard surface.

Care

The desert camouflage pattern stays crisp if it is cleaned with a damp cloth rather than a stiff brush, working gently over the raised setting. Dry it afterwards, then oil the pivot with a drop to keep the flipper decisive and the assist lively. Wipe the spear point blade after use, tip included. Sharpen at a steady angle, alternating sides to preserve the symmetry of the blade.
