Overview

The MKPCBC is a keyring made from light blue paracord braided back on itself and mounted on a carabiner measuring 10 mm in diameter. The whole thing is 65 mm long and weighs 11 g, which gives a key set something to hold on to without changing what sits in your pocket. Light blue stands out among steel keys, and the braid offers a soft textile surface where a plain ring only gives you a hard metal circle.

Why paracord rather than a bare ring

Paracord is a supple cord, fine enough to be braided tightly and long enough, once the braid is undone, to work as a tie. That is precisely what separates this accessory from a bare ring. A ring simply holds keys; the light blue braid holds them and keeps cord in reserve, folded down into 65 mm. Braiding turns that cord into a compact grip you can take in a full hand, recognise by touch and find at the bottom of a pocket without looking.
