Overview

The NS150 holds the middle ground: four points, 100 mm across, 3 mm thick, silver finish. Nothing is there to make it stand out, and that is exactly what makes it a useful reference in the range, halfway between the small NS142 and the large NS143. The 420 stainless plate takes a firm grip, and the belt sheath supplied with the star carries it to the range.

Where to start a collection

When throwing stars are new to you, a mid-size format helps: 100 mm sits in the hand without effort, stores anywhere and gives a point of comparison for everything else. From there you measure what a larger piece changes, such as the 112 or 125 mm of the series, then what a different arm count changes. Starting with an intermediate star avoids judging a whole range on an extreme format, and the progression towards big diameters happens in clear steps.

Care

If the star comes back damp, dry it before closing the sheath, then lay a veil of light oil over the 420 steel, paying attention to the four tips.
