Overview

The T2 is built around its stainless steel pliers and takes the multi-tool idea further than most: alongside the 66 mm liner-lock knife sit a waiter's corkscrew, a bottle opener, a shackle key, two flat screwdrivers, two cross screwdrivers and a spanner function. Folded, it measures 120 mm and weighs 244 g, and the cordura sheath lets it ride on a belt all day.

Five locked spanner sizes

The spanner function of the T2 covers five dimensions: 12, 10, 8, 6 and 4 mm, enough to work on most of the everyday hardware found on bikes, trailers, furniture and boat fittings. The liner lock holding it matters: a spanner that folds under load is no help, whereas here the tool stays put while you tighten. The shackle key completes the set for freeing a seized shackle pin.

Care

After a dirty job, open every function, rinse in warm water, brush out the recesses, then dry completely before folding everything away. Each pivot then appreciates a drop of light oil, including the corkscrew screw, which should turn without a tight spot. Wipe the 66 mm blade after every cut. The cordura sheath cleans with a soft brush and dries flat, well away from a radiator.
