Overview

The IWR is the Max Knives Impact Watch in red polycarbonate. Red is a tone rarely picked by accident: in a catalogue that holds six of them, it is the one that states the object most plainly. Everything else stays put, the pocket watch shape, the ring that goes onto a belt or a bag, the hold sized for one finger, the PSUPPER drawing signed off by Fred Perrin.

Six colours, one collection

Polycarbonate takes colour through the mass, and Max Knives has drawn a full range from it: blue, yellow, black, orange, red and green. The six pieces are strictly identical in shape, which makes the series collectable in the literal sense, since lined up they tell one silhouette in six tones. Some buyers take one of each colour, others build a set of two or three to sort their gear by a code settled once and for all.

Care

A wash in warm soapy water and a wipe with a soft cloth keep the piece going for a long time. The colour cannot chip, since it is held inside the material rather than laid over it, so a surface scratch will not reveal a different tone underneath. Set solvents and abrasive sponges aside. For a collection sitting in a display case, a microfibre cloth is all it takes to lift the dust.
