Overview
The PA36M2 sets a death's head between two finger holes, on a short body that closes inside the palm. The catalogue lists it exactly as it lists the PA36M, with no difference of material or format. Take it for what it is, which is already plenty: the same drawing, entered a second time, with its own number, its own page and its own place in a collection built up motif by motif.
Two numbers for one motif
It happens that a catalogue carries the same object twice under two references. For a collector that is no small thing: you can take both and show them next to each other, or find only one of them when the second number is out of stock. Nothing here points to a variant of finish or of size between the PA36M and the PA36M2, and it would be easy but untrue to invent one. What is certain is the motif: a skull, two openings for the fingers, and two catalogue entries for one idea.
