Overview

The IWB is the Max Knives Impact Watch in blue polycarbonate. Like the rest of the series it follows the format of a pocket watch, and that is where the whole interest of the piece lies: a round, flat outline is carried differently from an elongated object. The blue, blended into the material before moulding, gives this version a clear tone that is spotted at first glance, at the bottom of a pocket as much as on a strap.

The pocket watch shape, and what it changes in carry

A pocket watch is not stowed the way a long object is: it lies flat, it makes no point in the fabric and it is found again with the fingertips without rummaging. The Impact Watch follows that same logic. The round outline offers no edge to snag a lining, the ring works both as a hanging point and as a tactile landmark, and the whole thing stays close against the hip when it hangs from a belt.

Technical specifications

A blue polycarbonate body, coloured right through the material. Pocket watch format: round outline, integrated ring, a hold sized for one finger. It attaches to a belt, a loop or a bag. The model is drawn by PSUPPER and approved by Fred Perrin, cutler of the house. The IWB is one of the six polycarbonate colours in the series, next to yellow, black, orange, red and green; two steel versions complete the range.

Care

Polycarbonate does not rust and calls for no treatment. Warm water, a little soap and a soft cloth are enough to lift dust and fingerprints. Dry afterwards with a clean cloth. Keep the piece away from solvents, acetone and harsh cleaners, which dull the surface of technical plastics. As the colour sits in the material itself, washing will not chip it.
