Overview

On the P57EB, the 93 mm dagger blade and both stainless steel handles go fully black. Nothing throws light back: not the flats of the blade, not the cut-outs in the handles, not the latch. That choice changes how the knife reads in motion, where the eye follows a continuous outline instead of chasing highlights. The figures are unchanged from the model: 124 mm folded, 214 mm deployed, 92 g on the scale. This is the dark version for anyone who would rather carry something quiet than something bright.

What a dagger blade changes

A dagger blade is recognised by its symmetry: both flanks fall away in the same manner toward a point set exactly in line with the handle. On a butterfly knife that geometry has a very practical consequence. The blade's mass sits evenly on either side of the long axis rather than being offset, so the knife behaves identically whichever way it is thrown. The eye, meanwhile, always knows where the point is during a sequence, because there is no spine and belly to tell apart.

Care

A black finish holds fingerprints longer than bare steel: a dry microfibre cloth clears them in a few passes, with no product needed. Stay away from abrasive creams and scouring pads, which would mark the tone. On the mechanical side, oil the pivots with a light oil, a very small amount at a time, and spin the handles to spread it. Store the knife dry with the latch closed rather than damp at the bottom of a pocket.
