Overview

The MKBAMOG dresses the MKBAM series in an 77 mm green G10 handle, into which folds a ceramic drop-point blade 51 mm long, 25 mm wide and 2 mm thick. Open, the knife measures 132 mm and still weighs 33 grams, held by a liner lock. It comes with paracord and a kydex sheath fitted with a lanyard. Green G10 makes it the outdoor colour of the range.

Paracord, lanyard and kydex sheath

Three parts decide how this knife travels. The thermoformed kydex sheath holds the closed knife by friction rather than by a strap, and rinses out without holding water. The lanyard gives you something to pull on when the knife sits at the bottom of a deep pocket or a pack. The paracord lets you hang it wherever you want: belt loop, rucksack strap, carabiner. At 33 grams the MKBAMOG is easy to forget once attached, and the green handle finds itself again quickly inside a hiking bag.

Care

Ceramic does not rust: a rinse under clear water and a wipe with a cloth are enough, with no oil on the blade. The green G10 handle washes with soapy water, which brings its colour back after a muddy outing, and the paracord dries in open air. Keep the pivot and the liner lock spring lightly oiled to preserve a smooth opening and a crisp lock-up.
