Max Knives 14693G — Small Flip rotating folder in 440C, silver finish
- Blade length30mm
- Blade material440C steel
- Overall length105mm
- Handle material440C steel
The 14693G is the silver-finish Small Flip: a 30 mm drop point blade and a rotating handle, both in 440C steel, at 75 mm closed, 105 mm open and 65 g on the scale.
Overview
The 14693G carries the silver finish, the one that leaves the steel showing across the whole knife. It is the version that answers the 14688G Big Flip, its 136 mm big brother, built on the same logic: a 440C steel handle with no scales, a drop point blade in the same steel, and nothing else between the two. Here the format comes down to 75 mm closed and 105 mm open, with a 30 mm blade. The rotating mechanism is covered by a registered design. A belt clip is mounted on the handle.
Three finishes, one mechanism
The Small Flip series comes in black, titanium and silver. The dimensions do not move from one reference to the next: same 30 mm blade, same 75 mm handle, same 65 g, same rotating action in which the handle swings clear of the blade and settles behind it. The choice therefore comes down to looks alone. Silver is the one that shows the steel as it is, with no dark coating and no in-between shade, and it is the one that pairs with the Big Flip of the same name if you want both formats to match.
Technical specifications
Drop point blade in 440C steel, plain edge, 30 mm long and 2 mm thick. Handle in 440C steel, silver finish, 75 mm long, which gives the closed length of the knife. Overall open length: 105 mm. Weight: 65 g. Belt clip mounted on the handle. Registered design. The drop point drops the spine towards a tip that stays in line with the edge, a versatile profile on a knife of this size.
Care
On a silver finish, fingerprints and deposits show more than they do on a dark piece: a wipe with a dry cloth after use is enough to keep the original look. 440C is stainless, but wipe it down all the same after cutting acidic food or after a day by the sea. Oil the pivot lightly now and then so the handle keeps turning without effort. Sharpen on a fine stone or a ceramic rod, following the original edge angle rather than setting a new one.
Legal notice. Carrying a knife in public without a legitimate reason is an offence in France and in most European countries. Check the law that applies where the order is delivered before purchasing.
