Overview

The MKBAMOTD is a lightweight folder from the MKBAM series, built here around a damascus blade. The drop-point blade is 52 mm long, 25 mm wide and 2 mm thick, and locks open with a liner lock. The G10 handle measures 77 mm, which is the closed length of the knife; open, it reaches 132 mm for 33 grams. Paracord and a kydex sheath with lanyard complete the package.

Why damascus shows

Damascus comes from stacking different steels, forge-welding them together and folding the billet; etching the surface then reveals the contrast between the layers and draws those rippling lines that no two blades share exactly. Across the 52 mm of the MKBAMOTD, that pattern runs the full height of the blade and makes each piece identifiable. This is what separates this version from the ceramic-bladed MKBAM models: the same knife architecture, but a blade you look at as much as you use.

Care

A damascus blade should be kept wiped and dry: a cloth after every use, then a light film of fine oil worked from the flat towards the edge keeps the pattern crisp and readable. Do not leave the folded knife damp inside the kydex sheath, which rinses with clear water and dries separately. A drop of oil on the pivot and a check on the liner lock screw are enough to keep the lock crisp.
