Overview

The MKSL is a tactical pen with a solid brass body. It measures 133 mm long and 12 mm in diameter, which gives it a firm grip between the fingers, closer to a workshop clutch pencil than to a desk pen. It comes with a paracord wrist strap and finishes in a tactical end. It is the longer of the two brass pens in the range.

A pen you keep for years

Most pens are consumables: you lose them, bin them, pick up another. A solid brass body changes your relationship with the object. The metal does not crack like plastic, does not scratch irreversibly like a lacquer, and comes back to hand unchanged after years. The pen becomes a piece you find again in the same bag, the same pocket, the same case, and whose refill you replace rather than the whole thing. The 12 mm diameter plays its part too: a thick body tires the hand less over a long stretch of note taking.

Care

The body cleans with a dry cloth; a pass of brass polish brings back the bright tone of the metal for anyone who prefers it to the patina. The paracord strap comes off to be washed in soapy water, then air dried. Store the pen in a case or a dedicated pocket rather than loose against other metal objects.
