Max Knives MKPNT — Nato tactical pen, titanium-colour anodised

Overview

The MKPNT is the titanium-colour anodised version of the Nato tactical pen. It shares the black model's dimensions, 11.8 cm long and 13.5 mm in diameter, its 28 gram weight, its anodised aircraft aluminium, its screw cap and its double function as pen and touch-pad. Only the shade changes: a light metallic grey that lets the aluminium show through the anodising, where the black closes the surface completely.

A screw cap that does not go missing

A push-fit cap comes off with one squeeze and ends up, sooner or later, at the bottom of a pocket or under a car seat. A thread changes that behaviour: it asks for a deliberate movement to open, holds on its own once screwed home, and does not pop off when the pen gets knocked about in a bag. On a pen you carry around, that is the difference between a cap you keep an eye on and a cap you forget about, with the tip shielded from whatever else is in there.

Care

Titanium-colour anodising shows fingerprints less than black does, but it cleans the same way: a soft cloth, never a solvent or an abrasive powder. A cap thread keeps its smoothness as long as it stays clean, and a wipe along the threads is enough. Keep the tip protected with the cap screwed on whenever the pen goes back into a pocket.
