Max Knives PARA30PHBL — 4 mm glow-in-the-dark paracord, 30 m, blue
Thirty metres of 4 mm glowing blue paracord: a cord that, once it has seen daylight, marks out in the dark where you left your pack or drove your tent peg.
Overview
The PARA30PHBL is 4 mm paracord in a glowing blue shade, offered in a long thirty-metre run. It cuts and knots like any parachute cord, for a shelter, a tarp, a trap, a repair or a braid, and adds the particular quality of staying findable once the lights go out. That property is what governs how it is used and where it gets put.
Finding your kit at camp
A camp at night is a collection of objects on the ground, none of which can be seen. A loop of this cord tied to a pack handle, the zip of a pouch, a peg or the centre pole of a shelter turns each of those things into a glowing marker. You step out without a torch and still find the tent door, the water bottle and the sleeping bag where they belong. Thirty metres leaves enough to mark out a whole bivouac, hanging lines for gear included.
Technical specifications
Paracord measuring 4 mm across, in glow blue, delivered as a 30 metre length. After exposure to light, the cord shows up in darkness. The gauge remains that of common braids and survival kit cordage, compatible with the beads and buckles sold for paracord; the length can be recut freely. Thirty metres is enough for a camp rig and a braiding project in the same season.
Care
What this cord gives you depends on its exposure: keep it in the light during the day, rather than buried at the bottom of a pack, if you plan to rely on it in the evening. Cleaning is done with clean water and no scrubbing product. Like any long length it dries unwound and stores coiled without twist. Keeping it away from damp looks after the cord and its colour alike.
