Max Knives FPGTPLT — folding Tanto Griffe, natural titanium ring

Overview

The FPGTPLT is the tanto version of the folding Griffe with a titanium ring. Its 440C steel blade measures 45 mm and shows the marked angle between edge and point that defines the shape. The 80 mm G10 handle carries at its end a titanium ring in natural colour, light grey and matt, whose diameter can be set. Open, the piece reaches 125 mm for 59 g. La Griffe began as a tiny fixed blade; this model carries its ring principle over into a format that closes. Kydex neck sheath with paracord, numbered First Run series.

What a tanto point changes

A tanto blade does not follow one single curve: it reads as two distinct segments, a main edge that is almost straight, then a second facet rising to the point and meeting the first at a clean angle. That angular summit is the signature of the drawing. Two consequences follow: material stays massed behind the point instead of thinning away gradually, and the main edge, freed of any curvature, offers a long straight stretch well suited to cuts pressed against a flat surface. On this 45 mm blade, 3.5 mm thick, both facets read clearly.

Care

The angle of the tanto point is the spot to watch when cleaning: run the cloth along the direction of the edge, without pressing on the summit, then dry the blade fully before folding it. A film of neutral oil on both facets is enough to protect the 440C. The natural titanium of the ring returns to its matt grey with a simple pass of a soft cloth. Rinse the kydex sheath under clear water, hang the paracord to dry.
