Max Knives P60B — Black clip point butterfly knife, 8 mm handles

Overview

The P60B is the dark version of the 93 mm clip point balisong. Blade and skeletonised handles take the same black tone, which softens the edges and brings out the one thing that matters here: how slim the profile is. Folded, the knife measures 124 mm; deployed, it reaches 214 mm and puts 97 g in the palm. Its 2.30 mm blade stays above the batch average for thickness, creating a clear contrast between a solidly dimensioned blade and deliberately thin handles.

An 8 mm handle, and what it changes

Across this series handle thickness runs from 8 to 9.17 mm. Just over a millimetre of spread: invisible in a photograph, and yet the first thing your fingers register. At 8 mm, the P60B has the thinnest section of the batch. A slim handle closes faster between index finger and thumb, packs shorter in a pocket and lets the hand rotate the whole knife through a smaller sweep. In exchange it offers less bearing surface than a thick handle, which encourages a grip held closer to the pivot. It is a handling choice: quickness rather than planted stability.

Care

Even black shows little from ordinary use, but it does pick up greasy marks: wipe blade and handles dry after each session rather than waiting. As on every balisong, the mechanism comes down to two pivots and a latch, and is happy with light oil used sparingly. A knife that clacks unevenly usually wants nothing more than a slight retightening, not a strip-down.
