Max Knives MKCS — Stainless survival card, fluo yellow border

Overview

The MKCS is the fluorescent yellow border version of the stainless steel survival card. Engraved, flat, set to the dimensions of a bank card, it shows 15 g and stows anywhere a card goes: wallet, document holder, the lining of a bag. Its useful part waits only for the moment it is needed: it separates along a predefined outline and then takes on the role of a neck knife or that of a saw.

What a fluorescent yellow outline changes

On a card meant to sleep at the bottom of a pocket, colour is no decorative detail: it is what lets you find it again. The fluorescent yellow border of the MKCS stands out among uniformly dark bank cards and papers, and catches the low beam of a torch far faster than a neutral outline. That is exactly the documented difference between this version and the MKCM, whose border is black: same card, same steel, opposite visibility.

Engraved stainless steel plate, sized to a bank card, outline underlined by a fluorescent yellow border. Weight 15 g. Detachable part following a predefined outline, turning into a knife or a saw depending on the cut followed. The MKCS forms a pair with the MKCM: both cards share stainless steel construction, format and cutting principle, and differ by the colour of the border, fluorescent yellow here, black on the other.

Care

Looking after a survival card takes few gestures, but they matter since it is rarely used. Wipe the plate whenever you handle it, and remember to take it out after a long stay in a damp pocket. A soft cloth is enough on stainless steel; if it gets dirty, a pass with warm soapy water then careful drying brings the engraved surface and its border back to life. Keep the card flat, with nothing resting on top of it.
