Max Knives NS139 — Pair of 2-point Batman shurikens, 200 x 68 mm

Overview

The NS139 arrives as a set of two identical pieces, and it looks like nothing else in the NS series. Where the others draw a disc, this one stretches out: 200 mm from tip to tip for 68 mm of height, two opposed arms and a bat silhouette behind the Batman design. The 420 stainless steel is worked at 2 mm here, for a quoted weight of 30 g, and the black finish carries the theme through. A belt sheath comes with the set.

Two arms, two pieces

A two-point star is not held like a five or six-point one: the elongated body is gripped in the middle and both tips line up with the forearm. That geometry sits closer to a throwing knife than to a disc, and 200 mm of span gives leverage the small formats do not have. Receiving two of them changes a session as well, since you throw twice before walking to the target and one piece can stay untouched in the display case.

Care

Two pieces, the same routine twice: wipe each shuriken separately before they go back into the sheath together, or the damp left on one transfers to the other. Clear water lifts the soil, a soft cloth does the rest, and a film of light oil over the 2 mm of 420 steel keeps corrosion at bay. The long tips deserve a close look, since that is where wood fibres lodge after a throw.
