Max Knives MKB4 TactiDrink — Bastinelli Bottle Opener, Anodized Aircraft Aluminium
The TactiDrink is a bottle opener designed by Bastinelli and cut from anodized aircraft aluminium. Ten and a half centimetres, six millimetres thick, thirty-one grams — the EDC piece that lives on your keyring.
A maker's object without a blade
Bastinelli designs knives; the TactiDrink applies the same standard to an everyday object. The same work on the grip, the same care over the right thickness, the same finish — but no blade, so nothing standing between you and buying, carrying or travelling with it. It is an object you can give as a gift, take on a plane trip and leave on a desk.
Aircraft aluminium
Aircraft aluminium refers to the high-strength alloys used in aircraft structures. At six millimetres thick it makes a rigid object that will not deform in use while staying at thirty-one grams — a third of what the same piece would weigh in steel. Hard anodizing protects the surface and fixes the colour into the metal rather than sitting on top of it.
