Overview

The PA2A2 is the aluminium version of the mini two-finger design. Its footprint fits inside a square of 65 mm by 62, with ring thickness peaking at 11 mm and an inside diameter of 26 mm. That compactness is claimed rather than incidental: the shop files the reference among mini formats, well away from pieces of 100 mm and more. The PA2B2 offers an exact copy in brass, so you can choose the metal without a single measurement changing.

What a mini format buys you

Shrinking the outside dimensions of a ringed object does not shrink the grip: ring diameter stays dictated by the finger, and it is the material around it that tightens up. On the PA2A2 the 65 x 62 mm overall slips into a jeans pocket without distorting the fabric, into a car tray or into the top compartment of a bag. The usual penalty of a reduced format would be weight, but aluminium all but cancels it: this is the lightest metal in the selection, which makes the model one of the least noticeable to carry.

Care

Nothing weighs on aluminium: soapy water, a rinse, a dry with microfibre. The surface needs no protection against corrosion, as the natural oxide layer takes care of that. Clean inside the rings, where dust and pocket fibres gather, and avoid abrasive cleaners that would leave visible scratches on a pale metal. Drying fully before storage keeps water marks away.
