The blade

A dagger is judged on its blade, and this one is 440C — the high-carbon stainless found on the maker pieces in this catalogue. Four millimetres thick at the spine, two symmetrical grinds, and a matte black finish that absorbs light and emphasises the line. The hard rubber handle grips firmly, wet hands included, and the pronounced guard secures the hold.

Care

The black finish protects the steel: wiping after handling and dry storage are enough to preserve it. A double-edged dagger is maintained on both sides, at the original angle, on a fine stone.
