What ABS brings
ABS is the technical polymer of tool housings and protective equipment: rigid, impact-resistant, indifferent to moisture. On a balisong it changes three things. The knife is lighter than its steel equivalents, so quicker off the mark in rotation. It is noticeably quieter, the handles not ringing like two metal bars. And it stays neutral to the touch, where steel takes on the temperature of the room.
The blade
Eighty millimetres of black-finished stainless steel, three millimetres thick, with a long oval slot cut into the flat that lightens the tip and underlines the line. The handles measure 110 mm, for 200 mm overall when open.

Care
ABS washes with soapy water and needs no protection. As on any balisong, a drop of light oil on each of the two pivots and a regular check of the screws. On polymer handles, do not tighten the pivot screws beyond contact: the material marks more easily than steel.
