Overview

The NS147 counts seven points, a rare tally within the NS series. On a 100 mm diameter that means shorter and more numerous tips than on the four or five-point pieces of the same size, and an outline that leans towards a circle. Thickness stays at 3 mm, in the same 420 stainless steel with a silver finish as the rest of the range, and the belt sheath is supplied.

Seven tips on the same diameter

Spreading seven arms rather than four over 100 mm amounts to shortening each of them: the radius does not change, but the material divides among more tips, and the angle between them drops to a little over fifty degrees. In the hand, the piece can be gripped anywhere around the rim, since an arm always meets the thumb. Facing the target, the rotation offers a usable point more often than a cross does, which explains the appeal of high-count figures for practice.

Care

The more arms there are, the more inner angles collect wood dust: seven gaps to check here, turning the piece in the hand. A dry cloth is enough after an indoor session. Outdoors, rinse then dry, since 420 stainless copes very well with clear water but not with damp storage. A discreet coat of light oil closes the routine before the star returns to its sheath.
