Max Knives MKSH1CF — 8-point carbon fibre throwing star, 52 mm
An eight-point throwing star cut from carbon fibre: 52 mm across, 1.5 mm thick, with a lanyard hole and the snowflake outline shared by the whole MKSH1 series.
Overview
The MKSH1CF is an eight-point throwing star cut from carbon fibre and shaped like a snowflake. The disc measures 52 mm across and 1.5 mm thick, and a hole through the centre takes a lanyard. It is a piece you pick up to practise your throw on a dedicated target, and one you are happy to leave on display between sessions: the carbon weave catches the light and reads from across the room.
About carbon fibre
Carbon fibre is not a metal. It is made of woven carbon threads set in resin, stacked in layers and pressed into a rigid plate. The result is light, dimensionally stable and completely indifferent to damp, so there is no corrosion to worry about after a session outdoors. The weave stays visible at the surface and gives every branch that recognisable dark chequer pattern, which shifts in appearance depending on the angle you look at it from.
Technical specifications
The MKSH1CF belongs to the MKSH1 series: eight branches set around a disc 52 mm in diameter, 1.5 mm thick throughout. The material is carbon fibre, on the branches as well as at the centre. The outline follows the snowflake design shared across the series, and a central hole is provided for a lanyard or cord.
Care
After a session, wipe the piece with a dry cloth to remove target dust and the wood fibres caught between the branches. Carbon fibre does not rust and needs no oiling; a slightly damp cloth is enough for a deeper clean, followed by careful drying. Store the shuriken flat, away from anything that might rub against it, and check the condition of the cord from time to time if you run one through the central hole.
