The colour

Anodizing does not lay a coat of paint on aluminium: it grows an oxide layer into the metal and colours it through. The blue of the P45 therefore does not flake or scratch off like a lacquer — it wears with the metal itself. On a knife handled constantly, that difference decides everything.

The contrast

Blue handles, black blade: the P45 is built on that opposition. In rotation the dark blade disappears while the handles stay readable, which makes the movement easier to follow with the eye — a real advantage when learning a figure and wanting to see where the knife is.

3Cr13 spear-point blade, single edge, black finish, 105 mm long. Blue anodized aluminium handles. Closed length 128 mm, overall length open 229 mm. Two-pivot balisong mechanism with latch. Weight approximately 100 g.

Care

A drop of light oil on each pivot and a regular check of the screws. Anodized aluminium cleans with soapy water; avoid alkaline products, which attack the oxide layer and dull the colour.
