Where most automatics in the range hover around the hundred gram mark, this one comes in at 258, spread between a 130 mm black aluminium handle and a 95 mm double-edged stainless blade 3 mm thick. Deployed, it measures 230 mm. The handle carries a reversible clip, which can be moved to whichever side suits your dominant hand, along with a glass breaker. A nylon sheath rounds out the package.

What 258 grams change in the hand

The weight of a knife is not a line on a spec sheet, it registers the moment you pick it up. A 99 g automatic disappears in a pocket and can be handled with the fingertips; at 258 g you are holding something with momentum. Once a movement is started it carries on by itself, which gives authority to cuts made under pressure and steadiness when the hand is working away from the body. In exchange, that mass rides on a belt more readily than in the bottom of a light trouser pocket, and that is exactly what the reversible clip and the supplied nylon sheath are for. Care

Lastly, check the reversible clip screws: on a 258 g knife they are what absorbs the movement of belt carry, and tightening them regularly keeps play from creeping in.
