Max Knives FPPUSHG10 — All-G10 mini push dagger, Fred Perrin design

Overview

The FPPUSHG10 is the version of the series in which metal disappears altogether: blade and handle are cut from the same G10, with no steel and no titanium anywhere. The piece draws a T-shaped outline in a perfectly even matt black, with no reflection and no contrast of material. The figures match the other three versions of the quartet: 80 mm overall, 53 mm wide, 2.6 mm thick, a 45 mm double-edged blade and a 35 mm handle. A kydex sheath and a paracord come with the piece.

A piece with no metal at all

Making the whole object in G10, blade included, changes its nature: this laminate of glass fibre and epoxy resin does not rust, does not conduct electricity and is not magnetic. Its colour is taken into the mass during hot pressing, so it cannot flake off the way a coating would. It is also the quietest of the quartet to the eye: no edge throws light back, and the piece stays black whichever way it is turned.

Technical specifications

Full G10 construction, blade and handle included. Double-edged plain blade of 45 mm, 2.6 mm thick. Handle of 35 mm, perpendicular to the blade. Overall length 80 mm, width 53 mm. Even matt black finish, no metallic part. Moulded kydex sheath and paracord supplied. The FPPUSHG10 completes the quartet built on the same Fred Perrin drawing, alongside the FPPUSHB, the FPPUSHS and the FPPUSHT in titanium.

Care

Nothing to oil and nothing to fear from damp: G10 is inert to water and does not oxidise. A pass under lukewarm water with a little neutral soap, then a wipe with a soft cloth, brings the matt black back to its original state. Keep the piece away from solvents and abrasive creams, which would burnish the surface and break the evenness of the matt. The kydex is cleaned the same way; the paracord air dries after washing.
