A knife 83 mm long overall is about the length of a car key. At that size the question is no longer whether you take it, but where you put it: on a keyring, in a jacket pocket, in a sports bag. Thirty-four grams go unnoticed anywhere. That is precisely Fred Perrin's idea: a tool you always have because you never had a reason to leave it behind.
The karambit shape
The karambit is a curved profile from South-East Asia whose concave edge catches material rather than sliding off it. On a short knife that is what allows an effective cut despite a 45 mm blade: the curve multiplies the length of edge actually in contact. The compact form can be held several ways, a constant in Fred Perrin's work.

The designer
This model carries the signature of Fred Perrin, the French knifemaker and designer known for compact, pared-down designs led by ergonomics. His work favours control of the tool and a function you can read at a glance — a principle that shows all the more on an object this size.
Care
Three millimetres thick over 83 mm: it is a solid object at its own scale, with no mechanism and no wearing parts. Wipe after wet use, store dry, and sharpen the curve on a round-section stone rather than a flat surface.
