Overview
Where the MKO30 and MKO31DE sit in the palm, the MKO16 is an OTF you hold in a full grip: a 105 mm handle and a 66 mm drop-point blade that fires from the front at the push of a button, double action. The handle pairs an aluminium core with carbon-fibre inserts and ends in a glass-breaker tip. The knife ships with its nylon sheath.

Uses
Size changes everything: the MKO16 anchors in a full grip and takes a firm cut — heavy cardboard, cordage, webbing. 3Cr13 is an easy-going stainless steel with a forgiving edge: it comes back in a few passes, tolerates an approximate angle and resists moisture very well. The glass breaker at the butt makes it a sensible thing to keep in a vehicle.
Care
An OTF this size swallows more dust: blow out the deployment channel regularly. Wipe the blade after wet use, and never store the knife in a damp nylon sheath. A drop of light oil on the mechanism a few times a year keeps deployment crisp.
What sets the MKO16 apart
The only OTF automatic in the range to combine a full-hand grip, carbon fibre and a glass breaker at the butt. Its sibling, the MKO17, takes the same architecture with a partially serrated double-edged blade.
