The handle pattern

The P55B handles are smooth apart from a large oval hollowed into their centre and underlined by two ridges. It is the most pared-down of the five: no grid, no cut-out, a single line structuring the surface. In full black the effect is of an object moulded in one piece.

What the series shares

The five models from P50 to P55 share one architecture: a 98 mm 3Cr13 spear-point blade, steel handles, 117 mm closed and 215 mm open, two-pivot balisong mechanism with latch. Solid steel handles give this format mass at its extremities, which carries the rotation and makes the movement broad and steady rather than quick.

Choosing within the series

The P55B is the quietest of the series. The P50 adds an even grid, the P54 a bold braid, the P52 open cut-outs.

Technical details

3Cr13 spear-point blade, black finish, 98 mm long. Black steel handles with a recessed oval motif. Closed length 117 mm, overall length open 215 mm. Two-pivot balisong mechanism with latch. Weight approximately 103 g.

Care

A drop of light oil on each of the two pivots and a regular check of the pivot and latch screws, which work on every flip. The relief on the handles cleans better with a soft brush than a cloth.
