The handles
This is what sets it apart from every other model. The aluminium handles carry the Japanese weave pattern in relief — a run of alternating black and white triangles, imitating the crossed cord found on traditional sword grips. In rotation the contrast draws a helix that monochrome models cannot produce. It is a gripping texture as much as a decoration.
The tanto blade
A tanto stops the edge and restarts it on a second angle towards the tip. The point ends up shouldered by a mass of material and takes loads that would fold a fine tip. On a 246 mm butterfly knife it is the profile that suits the format: length provides the momentum, the tip takes it.
Technical details
3Cr13 tanto blade, black finish, 105 mm long. Aluminium handles, black and white Japanese weave pattern. Closed length 127 mm, overall length open 246 mm. Two-pivot balisong mechanism with latch. Weight approximately 103 g.
Care
A drop of light oil on each of the two pivots, and a regular check of the pivot and latch screws. The relief pattern cleans with a soft brush, which reaches into the hollows better than a cloth.
