The two-tone blade

The black finish covers the flat of the blade while the grind stays polished. The edge therefore reads instantly, which is useful on a knife you spin: you always know which side the edge is on. It is a finishing detail, but it is the one that makes people choose this model over another.

The drop point

The spine falls in a convex sweep to a tip that stays high and strong, with a long cutting belly. It is the most versatile profile there is, and the rarest in a butterfly family dominated by spear points: the P49 is the one to choose if the knife also has to cut.

Technical details

3Cr13 drop-point blade, two-tone black and silver finish, 103 mm long. Black anodized aluminium handles with transverse ribs. Closed length 127 mm, overall length open 230 mm. Two-pivot balisong mechanism with latch. Weight approximately 100 g.

Care

Light oil on both pivots, check the screws. The handle ribs catch dust: an occasional pass with a soft brush keeps them crisp.
